German Armour

Still painting away and getting things done. In the last week or so I have finished a Heer MG42 team, the warlord games German FOO guys and a Heer LEIG 18 Gun. I need to finish off the bases for the MG42 and FOO so I only have a picture of the Gun at the moment.

I have taken a few pictures of my existing German amour as well to flesh out the post. I still have a panzer iv, a tiger and a SDKFZ 250 to paint (The panzer iv about 50% done)

I still need to improve my photography skills but I think I am getting better. I think I need to get to know the manual settings on my camera better. The best photos of this bunch were done in manual mode.

Painted Fallschirmjager

These are the pictures of what I have painted so far this year. All these are Fallschirmjager, mostly warlord games but there are some Offensive and Artizan in there as well. I am planning on getting a few more Offensive figures at the York show in a couple of weeks. The photos are a bit dark because the bulbs seem to have gone on all my lamps at once. I will try and get better lit photos up once I have got that sorted.

Sniper team. I think my favorite figure of the batch so far is the guy on the left.

I will try and get some pictures up of some of the other bits I have painted previously.

Welcome to the first Post

I thought I would start a blog to try and keep track of the things that I paint/make as well as any other hobby related stuff I get up too (this might even include the odd game). The plan this year is to reduce the amount of stuff I have and to try and make my hobby pretty much cost neutral. This means I am going to be selling stuff off and asking for wargames related stuff for birthday presents.

The aim is to stick to two main periods both in 28mm. These are going to be WW2 and the Anglo-Zulu war. I already have collection of both of these, with a decent amount painted, so the initial aim is going to be to paint what I already have. I am planning on using Chain of command and Boltaction  for WW2 games so I do need to get hold of a couple of things to be able to field the full platoons needed for these rules. I am planning on focusing on WW2 first and when I have made a good dent in this I will move over to the Zulu war. I might flip between the two a bit to vary the painting.

On top of this there will be the odd side projects of helping out my kids with their stuff e.g. My eldest got the Flames of War starter for Christmas so I am going be helping him paint that up.

I have made a decent start this year and have so far finished 35 fallschirmjagers which will form the core of a platoon plus a few support options. I will put some pictures of these up soon along with some of the bits I already have finished.
